"The new terminal will triple the capacity of Kutaïsi airport. Today, the airport handles about 300 passengers per hour and the new terminal will increase this number to 1,000 passengers. Today, 450 people work at the airport, and the new terminal will create about 100 new jobs," said Economy Minister, after visiting the construction site of the new Kutaïsi International Airport terminal. 90% of the work has been completed and will be fully completed by June 2018. The new terminal was designed by the Dutch architectural company UN Studio, while the analysis of the airport's development was carried out by IATA Consulting. The new airport terminal will occupy a surface area of 24,000 m2.
